Program Description
The Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting prepares majors with a practical and theoretical knowledge of accounting fundamentals through structured studies in managerial accounting, financial accounting, cost accounting, auditing, accounting information systems, and taxation. The wide range of course offerings prepare students for professional career opportunities in public, private, and governmental businesses as well as pursuing advanced studies in accounting related fields.

Student Learning Outcomes
Graduates of the Accounting Program will be able to:
- Use research methods to locate, extract and manipulate financial and nonfinancial data.
- Analyze, interpret, and construct financial reports for a variety of users in line with ethical and regulatory accounting practices.
- Apply accounting principles and techniques to formulate financial solutions such as resourcing, allocation, appraisal and/or control.
- Use accounting-specific and other applicable software in accounting and finance practices.
Degree Requirements
In addition to the General Degree Requirements as published in the Undergraduate Catalog, students pursuing the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting must earn minimum final grades of "C" in CENG 105 College Composition I, CENG 106 College Composition II, CMAT 109 College Algebra for Bus & Econ, CMAT 110 Calculus for Bus & Econ and in all business core courses and business elective courses.
